NATURAL NEWBORN SESSIONS

I take a natural, organic approach to newborn baby photography.  Natural  Newborn Sessions focus on your baby without props or accessories, creating and capturing special moments between the whole family, capturing you all just as you are, including all the little details like tiny hands and feet.  I like to get the whole family involved, and always encourage you to include siblings and furbabies.  If you are looking for your newborn to be photographed inside plant pots then I'm not the photographer for you (sorry!)

The best part of Natural Newborn Sessions is that they're completely stress free!!  You don't need to pack anything or go anywhere which is really great when you've just brought your newborn home!  It's also easier to control sibling interactions in your own home than in a studio. 

WHY I DON'T POSE NEWBORN BABIES

There was a time when I would turn up to a newborn photo session with posing beanbags, lights, backdrops, props, hats and wraps, and it took me a while to realise my heart just wasn't in it.  It didn't make sense to me to have a baby on a beanbag away from their parents for an extended amount of time in the name of photography  It didn't make sense to me to spend hours on end trying to make baby sleep to try to pose them in an unnatural position.  It was stressful for everyone!!  I know what it's like to have a newborn, and it can already be stressful enough.

Now during my Natural Newborn Sessions, babies spend most of their time in their parents arms where they should be.  It's much less stressful for baby and takes half the time.  I am in and out of your home in less than two hours rather than 4 hours.

I will still place babies for photographs, but never in unnatural positions, and I don't pose them in the way that many other photographers do.  I think babies are perfect just the way they are, whether they are awake or asleep, placed on the bed or the couch, or in their parents arms.  The way they yawn and stretch, the way they curl their little fingers and toes, that's how I like to capture their little personalities.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Natural Newborn Sessions take place in the comfort of your own home using only natural light and natural surroundings, maybe in the master bedroom or in your baby's nursery, I generally use the room with the best natural light.  If you choose to have your session outdoors this can be done either in your own garden or at a local beauty spot.

During your baby photoshoot I will focus on capturing every unique detail of your newborn baby.   White blankets may be used along with your baby's own white sleepsuits and vests.  Family photos will also have a focus on being relaxed and natural.

Your Natural Newborn Session is completely baby-led so please allow for around 2 hours to allow for the moods and needs of your baby, you will never feel rushed and will have plenty of time to cuddle, change, feed and settle your little one.

It is best to start a session just after a feed, so baby will be nice and settled, but don't worry if baby has other ideas, we have lots of time as I only ever book one baby a day (just in case!)

All of the images shown below were taken without a studio or lights, and will give you an idea of what I can acheive with natural light and natural surroundings, but please note if your house is dark I may need to use a flash diffuser to throw in some more light.

YOUR INVESTMENT   £150

This price includes all of the best images from your photo session professionally edited using only the best software, and provided in both colour and black & white.  Your images will be delivered to you on an an online gallery that you can share with friends and family.  I guarantee a minimum of 30 images but often you will receive many more than this.

My price is all inclusive with no hidden extras or aftersales, and includes your entire experience from start to finish.

I spend a lot of time professionally retouching each image to make sure that each photograph is processed as perfectly as possible.

It will take 2 to 3 weeks to prepare your images.  Your patience during this time is very much appreciated.
